Extended biography

Born and raised in Tema, Ghana, Kofi was educated at Mfantsipim School before studying Psychology at the University of Ghana.

His entry into the energy sector included practical offshore experience as part of a drill crew. Working close to the operational heart of Ghana's developing oil and gas industry gave him a direct understanding of the technical demands of the sector, the importance of a capable workforce and the opportunities available to indigenous service companies.

In 2011, he established Rigworld in Accra. The business initially focused on recruitment and workforce services before developing broader capabilities through new companies, technical partnerships and related ventures. Throughout that journey, Kofi has advocated for African enterprise, local capability, innovation, youth development and institution-building.

Today, his work continues to focus on building businesses, developing people and contributing to a more capable, confident and globally competitive Africa.

What I believe

"I believe that Africa has the talent, resources and ambition to build globally respected companies. What we need is the confidence to start, the discipline to improve and the courage to remain committed when progress is difficult."
"Business must create value, but its responsibility cannot end there. The institutions we build should develop people, strengthen communities and make it easier for the next generation to go further than we did."
